A 16-year-old's big idea.
Tote GOAT started because moving is kind of miserable — and it doesn't have to be.
How it started.
I was 16 when I watched my family haul stacks of borrowed grocery boxes up two flights of stairs — half of them soggy, one collapse mid-carry, stuff everywhere. Someone had to peel that tape off their hand for five minutes. It was a disaster.
I knew there had to be a better way. Sturdy totes existed. Delivery existed. People clearly needed this. So I built it.
Tote GOAT launched out of Metro Detroit — my backyard. Not because it was the easiest place to start a business, but because I live here. I know these neighborhoods. I know the apartments on the fourth floor with no elevator, the houses with the long driveway, the families who are moving because something big changed in their lives. Your move matters to me because this is my community.
The name? Part business logic, part goat obsession. GOAT = Greatest Of All Totes. And pack goats are a real thing — animals bred to haul heavy loads over rough terrain without complaining. That felt right. We haul your stuff, you don't have to, nobody complains.
Why the goat?
Pack goats are working animals. They don't make a fuss. They carry an impressive load, navigate rough terrain, and show up every time. They're not flashy — they're dependable.
That's the energy we're going for. We're not going to show up with a giant logo van and charge you airport prices. We're going to show up on time, hand you clean totes, and disappear until you need us again.
GOAT also stands for Greatest Of All Totes — which, yes, we realize is a bold claim. We stand by it.
Why local matters.
When you book with a national chain, you're a ticket number. When you book with us, you're a neighbor. We know the difference between a third-floor walkup in Royal Oak and a long driveway in Shelby Township. We care because we live in these places too.
We answer our texts. We come back when we say we will. If something goes sideways, you reach an actual person who can fix it — not a hold queue.
Metro Detroit doesn't need another giant company pretending to care about the community. It needs people who already do.

Every tote is sanitized after every move. Not "wiped down" — actually cleaned. Clean enough for the pantry, the kids' room, the good dishes.

The price we quote is the price you pay. If something changes, we tell you before we charge you. No invoice surprises.
